Applications due April 1
These scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors who have been paid members of the American Angus Association and Iowa Junior Angus Association for the past three (3) consecutive years. From these applications, the Iowa Angus Auxiliary will name a top boy and top girl to each receive a $1,000 scholarship. In addition, there will be a runner-up boy and runner-up girl who will each receive a $500 scholarship. The Iowa Angus Auxiliary uses the same scholarship application as the American Angus Auxiliary; however, the submission deadline and some qualifications are different. For example, Bronze and Silver awards are encouraged but not required for Iowa Angus Auxiliary scholarships. Helpful hint: It is recommended to download the application document to a local computer before you begin to fill it out.

American Angus Auxiliary National Scholarships
Applications due May 1
The first-place boy and first-place girl recipients of the Iowa Angus Auxiliary scholarships will have the option to apply for the American Angus Auxiliary national scholarships. The Iowa Angus Auxiliary Scholarship Chair will assist with the submission of applications to the American Angus Auxiliary. Please note that some qualifications are different for these national scholarships than the state scholarships. Refer to https://www.angusauxiliary.com/leadership/scholarship.html for full details. Also, each young lady submitting a scholarship application to the American Angus Auxiliary will be required to complete a form declaring her intent to compete or to not compete for Miss American Angus, if given the opportunity.

Anita Russell Achievement Award – DUE NOV 1
The Iowa Angus Auxiliary is again offering this award to be given to Iowa Junior Angus members who participate and achieve in the educational events at the National Junior Angus Show. The Anita Russell Achievement Award has been initiated in honor of Anita’s support and dedication to the Iowa Angus Auxiliary and Junior associations.
Anita Osburn Russell was born and raised in Bedford, Iowa. She was a charter member of the Auxiliary, and served as their president in 1958. Her husband, H.K. Russell was a former secretary to the Iowa Angus Association. They were both big enthusiasts and great supporters of the Iowa Junior Angus Association.
This award will be given to the top two point accumulating Juniors in these categories at the National Junior Angus Show:
- LEAD Conference
- Photography
- Graphic Design
- Writing
- Auctioneering
- Beef Science Poster
- Public Speaking
- Extemporaneous Speaking
- Team Sales
- Team Marketing
- Team Fitting
- CAB Cook-off
- Quiz Bowl
- Career Development
Scoring in each category:
- 1st place 11 points
- 2nd place 9 points
- 3rd place 7 points
- 4th place 5 points
- 5th place 3 points
- Participant 1 point
- Attends LEAD Conference 10 points
The highest scoring Junior will receive an award and a certificate. The second place Junior will receive a certificate. Forms are available from committee chairperson Mary Greiman or on the back of this page. Submission deadline is November 1st. This award will be presented during the Junior Awards at the Winter Beef Expo Banquet.

Iowa Major Award – DUE OCTOBER 1
The Iowa Angus Auxiliary is pleased to recognize and award Iowa Juniors who excel with their Angus cattle projects. We understand how much time and effort it takes to attain these achievements. These awards are presented in February at the Iowa Angus Association State Banquet. Winners will receive notification and instructions for attending the banquet.
BE SURE TO FILL OUT THE ACCOMPANYING FORM and send it by OCTOBER 1st to: (The award year runs from October 1st to September 30th.)
